AMAZON TO ANDES TOUR

In Northern Peru the Amazon and the Andes are easily accessible and connected by major highways. This tour starts in the Amazon lowlands and includes a “light jungle” experience in the forest of the high Amazon plain. Then the tour moves to the Chachapoyas area with a visit to the Gocta Waterfall and Kuelap before we embark on a easy trek to Tajopampa for bird and cliff tomb spotting in Valley of the Condors, La Petaca and Diablo Huasi. Returning to Leymebamba the final day takes us along the spectacular highway to Cajamarca.

  Day 1 Drive from Tarapoto to Moyobamba. Night in Altavista Casa Hotel.
  
  Day 2 Santa Elena Reserve. Night in Altavista Casa Hotel.
  
  Day 3 Drive from Moyobamba to Cocachimba.  Hike to high lookout of Gocta Waterfall.  Night in Gocta Lodge. 
  
  Day 4 Gocta Waterfall. Night in Gocta Lodge.
  
  Day 5 Kuelap. Night in Leymebamba.
  
  Day 6 Leymebamba Museum and horse trek to Tajopampa.  Night in isolated basic farmstead.
  
  Day 7 Diablo Huasi and La Petaca cliff tombs.  Return to Leymebamba for the night.
  
  Day 8 Drive along spectacular road to Cajamarca.
